We know that a quality early education is an important part of a student’s long term academic, social, and emotional success in the classroom and out. We’re so proud of all of our preschool teachers who are dedicated to making sure Summit’s youngest learners are set up for a strong foundation. This school year, we’re welcoming not one, but two brand new preschool teachers and we wanted to be the first to introduce them to you. We sat down with them and asked a few questions so you can get to know them better. Please be sure to give them a warm Summit welcome when you see them on campus!

Meet Kristin Pepiton

How many years have you been teaching?
I am going into my 9th year of teaching; after teaching Kindergarten for 6 & 1/2 years, I moved down to Pre-K and have loved it. I have been working with/teaching kids in many ways since I was in 7th grade!
What’s your favorite thing about teaching preschoolers?
My favorite thing is to see them sprout as creative thinkers and amazing problem solvers! I love guiding and encouraging them to believe in themselves when at their age they feel more defeated at times!
What did you love about Summit/ Why did you want to join the Summit team?
I have actually known Samantha Arce for the past 8 years and every time we talked about our schools, I was always intrigued! I love that the kids are empowered to do things others may think they cannot do. I appreciate that class sizes are held with high importance to do what is best for all kids and I am excited to have my oldest, Zoe, in Kindergarten at Summit this fall!
What are you most looking forward to in the new school year?
I am looking forward to collaborating with a new team of professionals and developing new relationships with students and their families!
