Character and Respect Education (c.a.r.e.)

Character development, leadership training, and positive discipline all contribute to Summit’s culture of success.  The C.A.R.E. program equips students to be outstanding young people and reduces behaviors that interfere with learning.  The Character and Respect Program is a school wide program centered around Summit’s Lifelong Guidelines:

  1. Be An Active Listener
  2. Do Your Personal Best
  3. Be Safe
  4. Be Responsible
  5. Be Respectful

Our positive discipline program sets up and reinforces clear behavioral expectations, and recognizes, rewards, and celebrates positive behavior.  When students do not meet these expectations, a continuum of interventions and consequences is used to address problem behavior.

The C.A.R.E. program is one of the many factors that help create a happy school environment in which students’ want to actively participate, share ideas, excel and grow to their fullest potential!
