SUMMARY:Noetic Learning Math Contest
DESCRIPTION:Summit Students who want toparticipate in the math contest: \n  \nDate of Test: April 20\, 2022  \nTest times:  During the dayand/or after school available \nTeachers have offered tolet students who have a conflict in their schedule take the test during theday. I know that 7th and 8th graders will be able to take their testduring the school day.  Please email me\, if you wouldlike me to arrange a time for your child to take their test during theday.  \nPracticetimes are Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 pm \nEvery Wednesday\, I will beavailable from 3:30-4:30 pm to help students prepare for the test. This isoptional!  If your child is not able to attend\, I will send home practiceproblems. Currently\, I have 30 students signed up from 2nd – 8th grade. I wouldlike to see how the first practice goes and then decide if I need to break upinto grade-level bands.   \nAbout NoeticMath Contest: \nThis year\, Summit studentswill be participating in The Noetic Learning Math Contest (NLMC).  NLMC isa semiannual problem-solving contest for elementary and middle school studentsin grades 2-8. Students from across the United States participate in thiscontest every semester.   \nThe goal of the contest isto develop students’ problem-solving skills\, encourage their interest in math\,and inspire them to excel in math. The students will be given online and theywill have 50 minutes to solve 20 problems.  \nRecognition and Awards willbe given to: \nNational Honor Roll Medal:  The top 10% of allparticipants in each grade will receive ‘National Honor Roll’ medals. \nTeam Winner Medal: The highest scorer ofeach team will receive a ‘Team Winner’ medal. \nTeam Achievement Plaque: The top 10% of teams (excludingafter-school institution teams and homeschool teams) will receive TeamAchievement Plaques.
