Building Connections through Cooking; Open to the Public @ MPR

Cooking is an integral part of our adult lives. As an important life skill, early childhood experts recommend teaching children to cook and make healthy food choices during their early years. Cooking experiences for children can (and should) incorporate math, science, sensory, language, literacy and social skills. Research has shown that children are more willing to try to eat something new if they helped prepare the food. Turn your kitchen into the perfect environment for your child to try new things!

Join Ms. Lisa Stearns-Hayes and Ms. Regina Abraham Wednesday, November 1 from 5:00 -7:00 pm in the MPR to receive practical tips on cooking with your child. You will learn how to incorporate math (measuring, fractions, addition), language (vocabulary development, new literature), science (the five senses, making predictions, solids vs. liquids), and social skills (working together, sharing and building self esteem).

Childcare will be provided for Summit students. Please RSVP by October 31.
