The Admissions Process: Online Application ~ Student Visits & Assessments

Future students are added to the enrollment wait list when the admissions process is complete. As part of admissions all children experience life as a Summit School of Ahwatukee student, by visiting in a classroom of their peers.

To apply for admissions first complete the Online Application

Through the online application parents will be asked to submit the following:

  • Copies of the last two years of a student’s report cards, or preschool progress reports.
  • Results of the last completed standardized testing report, if applicable.
  • A copy of your child’s current immunization record.
  • A copy of neurological, psychological or educational assessment, if applicable.
  • A copy of your child’s birth certificate (kindergarten & preschool students only).
  • $100 application fee, paid via check, payable to Summit School of Ahwatukee.
  • Teacher recommendations upon request.

Information for Students with Special Needs

Pre-enrollment visits: Students entering First through Eighth grades

Students currently enrolled in kindergarten through eighth grade visit in their present grade for two days, attending all regularly-scheduled classes. During this time students are given a math, reading and writing assessment.

Pre-enrollment visits: Students enrolling in Kindergarten and Preschool

Prior to enrolling, children who will be entering kindergarten or preschool will enjoy spending the morning in a preschool class on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, from 8:15 – 11:15 am.

Enrollment Dates

Please read the following enrollment procedures carefully.

Summit is accepting new students for the 2017-18 school year, in classes where openings remain.

Enrollment Dates for the 2017-18 school year

January 30th – February 3rd 2017
Priority re-enrollment for current Summit School of Ahwatukee students and incoming siblings.

February 6th – 10th  2017
Early Enrollment for new students who have completed the admissions process

February 13th 2017
Open enrollment – all students

Returning Students – Priority Enrollment

Priority enrollment is always given to current Summit School of Ahwatukee families. This includes siblings not previously enrolled.

Priority enrollment for current Summit families for the 2017-18 school year ends on February 3rd, 2017.  Siblings of enrolled students (who will be enrolling for the first time) may also enroll during this priority week. However, enrollment priority is given to current students.

New Students – Enrollment 

New students may take advantage of early enrollment from February 6th – 10th  2017. To register during this time, students must have completed the admissions process, including parent tour, student application, student visit and assessments.

Potential new students are added to the early enrollment list for the grade to which they are applying, in the order the admissions process is completed.  New students on the early enrollment list will receive a link to complete an online enrollment packet through which the first, non-refundable tuition payment of $700 is paid.

Please note that consideration may be given to families enrolling more than one child.

After the early enrollment date new students who have completed the admissions process will then be accepted in the order that the admissions process is completed and enrollments packets are received.
