Extended Day Coordinator
Mrs. Ighodaro coordinates before and after school programming for preschool through eighth grade. She earned both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s from West Chester University in Pennsylvania. She holds a BS in Health & Physical Education for kindergarten – 12th, and an MS in Counseling with a focus in Higher Education Administration. She has a depth of experience in education, including five years teaching at Arizona State University (ASU) and ten years in higher education administration at Arizona State University, Drexel University, St. Mary’s College of Maryland and West Chester University.
Her career at Summit began in 1998 when she joined a group of visionaries; shovel in hand, to break ground on land that would become Summit School of Ahwatukee. As with any new organization, she helped in many capacities. However most impactful was her eight year span as the school’s Admissions and Marketing Director. Mrs. Ighodaro proudly smiled as she enrolled the first Summit students, and shed tears as the first group graduated. Her knowledge, determination and passion was an integral part of transforming a vision into the reality: creating nationally accredited, award winning preschool through eighth grade in which students excel and thrive, in an innovative, rigorous curriculum that engages students to go far beyond memorizing information, but rather engages learners, promotes critical thinking and collaboration, enabling students to become leaders.
